As Father’s Day is upon us, I tend to look upon my father as I did as a child. He was the one who took care of me and was there to help when I was sick or hurt. I don’t think that I am alone in this thought process. As Dad gets older we all have to start reversing the parent child relationship and start to help Dad in his day to day operations. The stairs get harder, chores outside are more difficult to do , the bathroom isn’t the place to sit and relax home isn’t as safe as it once was. What do we do? Dad’s workshop or hobby room is downstairs. He’s is not as comfortable going to the place he loved to spend countless hours relaxing. Here at BILD there are multiple options to help get Dad back to where he wants to go. From stair lifts to adding an additional hand rail there are many cost effective options. We had a customers a few months ago call us to put a stair lift down to his basement. He had a huge electric train set up and had not been downstairs to work on it in months. By the time we left, after installing the lift, he was already down stairs working on the train set. His wife said she hadn’t seen him smile like that in a long while.
The bathroom is another place where Dad might have trouble getting around. From grab bars to full walk in showers BILD has multiple options to insure that Dad can navigate the room we still see him take the paper into every morning. The piece of mind that a safe bathroom can bring to a parent and their children is priceless.
